Run out of things to do this summer? Those looking to keep the kids entertained should head to WWT London where its first-ever Dragonfly Festival is still in full swing.

From a dragonfly foot safari and outdoor macro photography exhibition to learn more about the magical world of dragonflies, to chalk art, and weekend pond dipping and mini beast hunting, there are activities to entertain all the family and inspire a deeper connection with wetland nature.

Brand new to the festival at WWT London is the Iridescence art installation. Set over water, the installation invites visitors to observe the beauty, grace and importance of dragonflies and their wetland habitats. It features iridescent floating sculptures, composed of wing-like forms that mimic the beating rhythm of dragonfly wings.

Alexia Hollinshead, General Manager at WWT London, adds: “There’s lots to do at our Dragonfly Festival this summer. Whether you want to spend quality time with your family or gather friends for a great day out, there’s plenty to take part in, learn from, and explore, all while making precious memories in a beautiful wetland setting.

“Dragonflies are amazing little creatures, but don’t just take our word for it, come and see for yourselves.”

For budding dragonfly experts, now is the time to visit. Dragonflies are the stars of WWT sites during summer months, and WWT London Wetland Centre is an official British Dragonfly Society Hotspot with more than 20 exquisite species for visitors to encounter.

The festival runs until 22 September and participation in the WWT Dragonfly Festival at London is included with the price of admission, or free to WWT members and children under three.
