All eyes were on stunning actress Janine Nerissa on Wednesday as she arrived at the gala opening of the UK Asian Film Festival at The Mayfair Hotel.
Janine, accompanied by her partner Jonathan Sothcott, wowed in a head turning silver dress by Karen Millen, which she accessorised with a black Ferragamo clutch bag. She later posed up a storm on the red carpet with Bollywood icon Zeenat Aman, who was mobbed by admirers. Janine took to Instagram to tell her 50,000 followers she was “honoured” to meet Aman.
Janine appeared in an acclaimed Indian short film, Pardaa, in 2017, directed by Kajri Babbar. Most recently she starred in horror movie The Exorcism of Karen Walker and gangster flick The Krays – Dead Man Walking, opposite Eastenders actress Rita Simons.
The UK Asian Film Festival offers an eclectic mix of films, stimulating interviews, outstanding masterclasses, workshops, live performances, visual arts exhibitions and an annual short film competition. It aims to celebrate, award and reward great films, filmmakers and artists from South Asia.
The festival provides a unique platform for Asians working in film and media around the world. Their screenings and events include feature films, documentaries, short films, panel discussions, and educational and community screenings.
