Speaking at the launch of the new Call of Duty Warzone 2.0, Jermain Defoe revealed insights into his playing days including player ratings, team mates, his World Cup thoughts, and being angry on the pitch.
Player Ratings
“Sometimes you play s*** and you score, then you get a seven in the paper. You can just be not on it, but you might nick a goal and everyone’s like ‘yeah you played well today!’
Angry
When asked about using anger as a way to win, Defoe revealed: “I was an arguer on the pitch. I just argued – it got me going!”
When asked if he would prefer to be angry going into a game? He confirmed he loved to be fired up to which Akinfenwa asked, “is that to your own players or the opposition?” and Defoe responded, “both!”
World Cup / Mandela
“It was a dream come [true playing at a World Cup]. I played at the South Africa World Cup and I’m a massive Nelson Mandela fan, so it was special.”
Best player
“The best – Luka Modric. Balon D’Or winner. Just so silky… Everything he did just made the game look so easy.”
Defoe took on the role of ‘High Value Asset’ as the duos of Akinfenwa and Callux, and Chelsea pair Fran Kirby and Erin Cuthbert went head-to-head to keep Defoe alive the longest over three games in the new Warzone 2.0.
