The stars came out this week as John Lewis hosted a 90s inspired Christmas party at Café KOKO, Camden (Wed 4th), to celebrate the launch of its much-anticipated Christmas advert, a campaign that, true to John Lewis tradition, has once again captured the hearts of the nation.

Leading the night’s celebrations was 90s dance icon Alison Limerick, who took to the stage for a surprise live performance of this year’s advert soundtrack, her timeless anthem “Where Love Lives”, newly reimagined by globally acclaimed artist and producer Labrinth. The performance brought the house down as Alison’s soaring vocals filled the room in a soulful celebration of connection and festive spirit.

Guests including Jaime Winstone, Clara Amfo, Henry Holland, DJ Fat Tony, and father and daughter DJ duo Alex and Kim Turnbull were joined by up and coming DJ Cat Ellis, who opened the evening with a vibrant set of 90s inspired club classics.

Ellis, one of the UK’s most exciting new talents, set the tone for the night before handing over to Alex and Kim Turnbull, who kept the crowd dancing late into the night.

Rosie Hanley, Director of Brand for John Lewis, said:
“This year’s John Lewis Christmas campaign is a celebration of connection, memory, and the unspoken emotions that make the season truly magical. At John Lewis, we understand the power of a thoughtful gift, and we hope the ad will inspire our customers to find the gift that articulates their feelings, allowing the present itself to speak volumes where words may sometimes fall short.”

Alison Limerick, said:
“I squealed when I heard that ‘Where Love Lives’ would be in the advert, literally squealed like an excited child. Music has always had the power to bring people together, but I hope this year’s John Lewis Christmas advert gives everyone a new emotional connection with the song, especially with what Labrinth has created. His gentle version is just so beautiful, it’s sure to fill the heart with love.”
