The LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort has today unveiled a majestic display fit for a mini monarch to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.
Reimagined in LEGO® bricks, His Majesty is joined by new LEGO models of members of the Royal Family as part of a spectacular display stretching across several scenes in the Park’s iconic Miniland attraction.
Guests who visit the Resort across the Bank Holiday weekend will be among the first to see the new scenes including King Charles and Queen Camilla, on the balcony of Buckingham Palace wearing their glistening crowns and waving out to the flag waving crowds gathered along the Mall.
Incredible detail which has also gone into creating a miniature replica of the upcoming Windsor Concert featuring headline music acts Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Take That wowing the Royal Family sitting in the Royal Box, also included The Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children.
The Coronation Concert scene was built using over 25,000 bricks and features a full LEGO orchestra with violins, trumpets, and timpani drums. A team of expert Model Makers have been hard at work for months to complete the celebratory display which took over 500 hours to create.
Paula Laughton, Chief Model Maker at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, said: “It’s always a joy to be able to recreate iconic moments in British history in LEGO form, so we couldn’t miss the chance to mark this once-in-a-generation moment to recreate a coronation in miniature,
“The connection between Windsor and the Royal family is as strong as ever and we look forward to welcoming guests from across the UK and overseas to the Resort who we have no doubt will enjoy catching a glimpse of our new King and Queen.”
The scene will be on display from today until the end of the main LEGOLAND season in November.
