On Tuesday 5th December 2023, independent charitable hospital King Edward VII, is hosting a Christmas carol concert at St Marylebone Parish Church with all proceeds going to the hospital’s ground-breaking Pain Management Programme, as well as Military Grants for medical care for service men and women.

The evening will include Christmas carols, readings, and music, with distinguished guests such as actors Sir Derek Jacobi CBE and Victoria Smurfit, and veterans who have benefited from the hospital’s veteran support package.

This follows on from a highly successful event last year, where over £10,000 was raised, and funded a British veteran’s knee replacement.

The Pain Management Programme and Military Grants are testament to King Edward VII’s ongoing focus on veteran care. For 125 years, King Edward VII’s Hospital has been supporting members of the Armed Forces through subsidies for life changing medical treatment and access to their award-winning Pain Management Programme, the only service of this kind in England providing veterans with practical strategies to help improve the quality of life alongside pain.

Director of Philanthropy, Veterans’ Health & Brand, Alex Le Vey, comments: “Our Pain Management Programme is designed to help veterans from all walks of life, whatever their situation may be.

“It’s a pleasure to be able to host this event once again, and watch people come together to celebrate the festivities, and support the hospital’s Pain Management Programme by raising vital funds.”

Captain Alex Horsfall, whose knee replacement was funded by the Pain Management Programme, adds: “One of my fondest memories of King Edward VII was the people. The genuine undivided attention of the staff during my time on the Veteran’s Pain Management Programme was incredible.”
