Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Cllr Anthoney Okereke, joined residents at Kidbrooke Village to mark the completion of 645 affordable homes delivered in partnership between the Council, Berkeley and L&Q.

Cllr Okereke, together with the developers and residents, marked the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of Slessor House, the final building to be finished under this successful partnership agreement.
The Leader was joined by representatives from the key partners involved, including Managing Director of Berkeley Capital, Justin Tibaldi, and Delivery Director Development & Sales of L&Q, Neil Davis.

The growing community at Kidbrooke Village has welcomed the latest addition of affordable homes, split between Shared Ownership, London Living Rent and London Affordable Rent.

Kidbrooke Village is an award-winning regeneration project which has seen the post-war Ferrier Estate transform into a popular and sustainable neighbourhood. Work here places social value and community-building at its heart, as residents shared their positive experiences with Cllr Okereke at the event.

Justin Tibaldi, Managing Director of Berkeley Capital, said: “We’re hugely proud to complete our 645th affordable home in partnership with L&Q and the Royal Borough of Greenwich, and it’s fantastic to see more households settle in. Kidbrooke Village is a compelling example of successful long-term urban regeneration and has made a hugely postive difference to this part of Greenwich. Partnership working has been key to that success and shows what can be achieved through a shared vision and commitment to delivery.”

Once complete, Kidbrooke Village will deliver 5,400 new homes alongside a range of community infrastructure including the on-site Kidbrooke Station, 86 acres of biodiverse parkland anchored by Cator Park (awarded the prestigious Sir David Attenborough Award for Enhancing Biodiversity), two schools, a nursery, a healthcare centre, and a range of commercial spaces at Pegler Square such as Sainsbury’s, YoHome Supermarket and Starbucks, supported by nearly £60 million in financial contributions.
