On Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th August, The LEGO® Group is taking over London’s iconic Southbank Centre for a two-day extravaganza to keep little ones entertained over the summer holidays.
The fun-filled activities include, a She Built That music video experience – a high-energy, girl-powered event like no other, and a LEGO® Friends® Paw-some Summer Party – a place to let creativity flow with your favourite LEGO Friends characters.
Girls and boys aged 6–12-years-old can take part in the first music video to be directed and performed by kids. The crowd-sourced music video will see them dancing to the She Built That anthem at the Riverside Terrace Stage at the Southbank Centre, the same venue where hit-making legends have performed, such as Little Simz, David Bowie and Elton John.
The mini dance troupe will boogie along to The LEGO Group’s reimagined 80s hip-hop hit, created to encourage girls to redefine and reclaim what it means to be a builder and celebrate their creativity.
As part of Southbank Centre’s summer long Dance Your Way Home programme, the experience is a celebration of creativity, confidence and camera-ready fun! Each hands-on session gives participants the chance to learn choreography from the renowned ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company. They’ll also have the opportunity to take on behind-the-scenes roles, contributing to directing, styling, and shaping the story – with the video being officially released to the public.
Much-loved dance influencers—including Brooke and Jessie, Trend Kids, Starr Kiely, and Laurie Elle—will also be joining the two-day event, where there will be the exciting opportunity to meet them in person and dance alongside them.
Visitors will also have a chance to build their own custom LEGO brick boombox to take home for free, before hitting the LEGO dancefloor to show off their best moves – there will be over 400 spots available across seven free sessions.
Spaces are limited and expected to book up fast. To guarantee a spot, grab free tickets now at the link. Walk-ins will also be permitted on the day, subject to availability. Read all about the She Built Campaign and watch the music video here.
To top it off, attendees can also head to the LEGO Friends Paw-some Summer Party pop up down on the Queen’s Walk, located just a 5-minute walk from the music video experience, near the London Eye.
There’s something for everyone at the summer celebration, whether it’s hairstyling or craft activities. At Faraji’s salon, little ones can get a creative ‘glow-up’ with hair glitter and clip-in brick braids inspired by their favourite LEGO Friends’ characters, before taking some snaps in the LEGO Friends photo-booth to show off their new look. Bringing their inner artist to life at The Craft Party Station, visitors can design their own pet party banner to become part of the paw-some party decorations. Just in case that wasn’t enough, they can even customise and style their own LEGO Friends mini doll and take home a mini LEGO Friends set to build at home.
The pop-up will be open from 10am to 7pm on the 5th and 6th August, and all you need to do is turn up ready to party, LEGO Friends style.
