Lidl GB has confirmed that its new supermarket on Western Avenue, East Acton will open for the first time on Thursday 1st December.
The new, modern store will create around 40 new jobs for the local community. Following the discounter’s recent wage increases, new starters will be paid the highest rate of any UK supermarket. The new store features the supermarket’s famous in-store bakery, customer toilets with baby changing facilities and ample parking for cars and bicycles.
On opening day, customers will be able to find exclusive deals and offers on selected products including a Fan Heater with Remote (£9.99), a Sanitas Heated Blanket (£14.99) as well as a Crêpe Maker (£12.99)– all perfect presents this Christmas.
The store opening times are between 7am – 11pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am – 5pm on Sunday, delivering Lidl’s offering of fresh, quality and great value produce.
Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Mike Devine, commented: “It is fantastic that we are able to open our doors and welcome everyone into our new store in East Acton. We have received overwhelming support from local residents, and we would like to thank all those who have played a part in delivering this new store. We now look forward to serving our multi-award winning products to everyone within the local community.”
Lidl’s ongoing success shows no signs of slowing, with Lidl now the 6th largest supermarket in the UK. The discounter, which now has a market share of 7.2%, was recently named cheapest supermarket in The Grocer’s ‘Super Grocer 33’ for the third time in a row – beating six major retailers, including Aldi. The index, which compares the price of 33 everyday grocery items across the UK’s seven major supermarkets, found Lidl to be £15.44 cheaper than Morrisons, and a whopping £27.88 cheaper than the most expensive retailer.
