Lidl GB has confirmed that its new supermarket on 374-378 Green Street in Upton Park, Newham will open for the first time on Thursday 26th May.
The store opening times will be between 8am – 11pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday, delivering Lidl’s offering of fresh, quality and great value produce.
Part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn expansion and regeneration plans across Great Britain for 2021 and 2022, the store will create around 40 new jobs when opened and feature facilities including Lidl’s much-loved in-store bakery.
Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Colin Rimmer, commented: “It is fantastic that we are able to open our doors and welcome everyone into our new store in Upton Park. We have received overwhelming support from local residents, and we would like to thank everyone who has played a part in delivering this new store. We now look forward to serving our multi-award winning products to the local community.”
The new supermarket forms part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn investment across the country in 2021 and 2022. Its ongoing success shows no signs of slowing, with Lidl GB now the 6th largest supermarket in the UK.
