That’s going straight in my trolley… Lidl is back with a BANG this fashion season, as the supermarket today announces its second partnership with viral avant-garde designer, Nik Bentel. Introducing…the Lidl x Nik Bentel ‘Trolley Bag’ – the second chapter in the budget supermarket’s luxury fashion story.

Crafted from industrial stainless steel, the ‘Trolley Bag’ stays largely true to its supermarket trolley muse in look and feel, complete with a traditional handlebar. The bag also features a coin keychain fob that connects to Lidl trolleys shopping in store, meaning wearers can make any aisle their catwalk.

Following in the footsteps of last year’s viral sensation, the ‘Croissant Bag’, which sold out in two minutes and propelled Lidl onto the global fashion stage, the ‘Trolley Bag’ is here to once again take over London Fashion Week with force.

Embracing the rising trend of utilitarian fashion, the ‘Trolley Bag’ transforms everyday function into form – blurring the lines between practicality and high style to deliver one of this season’s most surprising statement pieces. Ideal for fashionistas wanting to make a statement both in store and on streets, the bag’s design deftly blends the practicality of a classic shopping basket with the talkability of Lidl’s developing novelty style.

Style obsessives eager to get their hands on the ‘Trolley Bag’ bag before anyone else should head down to The Lidl Fresh Drop on 20th and 21st February, 09:30 – 17:00 at 19 D’Arblay Street, W1F 8ED. The fresh grocery-inspired London Fashion Week event, created in collaboration with Nik Bentel, will give a limited number of attendees the chance to nab one of the coveted accessories. Anyone looking to nab the statement bag at the event simply needs to try their luck on a specially created ‘fruit machine’. Smoothies are up for grabs at the event too, leaving guests fuelled for the fashion week runway.

For those who miss out on the preview event, a limited number of bags will also be available via an exclusive ballot from 10am on Thursday 26th February at https://nikbentel.com/. Nik Bentel’s globally renowned weird and wonderful designs usually come with a high price tag, however the ‘Trolley Bag’ can be yours for the most reasonable price of all – absolutely nothing. Because you really can’t put a price on elite fashion.

Nik Bentel, Founder of Nik Bentel Studios, says of the partnership: “We couldn’t resist the chance to team up with Lidl again – there’s something so exciting about turning the most unexpected items into fashion statements – and it’s our bag through and through (pardon the pun). The Lidl ‘Trolley Bag’ is our latest twist on the everyday food shop experience and is the ultimate shopping sidekick. It’s playful, practical and made to stand out – whether heading out to the runway or to run errands.”

Joanna Gomer, Marketing Director at Lidl, says of the campaign: “After the viral frenzy created by our beloved ‘Croissant Bag’ in the UK last year, we’re back for round two with Nik Bentel, just in time for London Fashion Week. Our ‘Trolley Bag’ – a reimagination of an everyday shopping essential, is designed for working not just the runway, but the aisles too. Set to turn heads and steal spotlights, you won’t want to miss out on this season’s hottest item.”
