LIONESS Ella Toone says everyone wants to beat England following their Summer success.

Ella said she was looking forward to the forthcoming match against the USA, but admitted it will be a big challenge for the team.

She told GB News: “It’s going to be the ultimate test, against one of the best teams in the world.

“That’s who we want to compete with. We want to compete with the best teams. After the Euros, we’ve obviously got a little target on our back and everyone wants to beat us and we thrive off that and we thrive off games like this.

“We’re back at Wembley as well in front of a sell-out crowd so we can’t wait to be back there and put on another great performance and really test ourselves against the best team. It will help prepare for our World Cup in the summer.”

Asked about scoring in the Euros final, she said: “I replay it a lot in my head. I also replay it on my phone as well and watch it, because I’ll never get bored of watching it back.

“I don’t think I thought about it at that moment, I just saw it as another game of football, and then I’m in on goal one on one with the keeper. I saw her moving out and I thought the only thing I can do right now is go over.

“I’m just glad it went in the back of the net, even though it felt like forever until it hit the net. But yeah, an unbelievable moment, and something that will stay with me for forever now.

“Just so proud and I don’t get bored of watching it back, that’s for sure.”

Ella also told GB News of her pride at being involved in a scheme to help charities in her local community.

She said: “I’m just so proud to be a part of helping Tesco and helping the community. For me, I’m massive on giving back to where I started and my grassroots club as well.

“I always look back on that and it helped me get where I am today. So anything I can do to help out I’ll try and do so that’s why I’m so proud to have partnered with Tesco and this scheme that they’ve started and then helping out with local communities.

In an interview during Breakfast on GB News said: “It’s a great scheme that Tesco have set up. So on 15 October in selected stores, you can have the chance to find one of the 100 golden tokens you can give to a local group in your community.

“I think it’s massive, the money can help so much and in so many different ways. Not just grassroots, but all the different groups it can help with, with giving out food, setting up sporting opportunities for young girls and boys to get involved in.

“It’s amazing what this money can do for so many people who are involved.”
