The local community is being invited to review the revised plans for Tolworth Hospital which is being redeveloped by South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust.
The Trust is developing modern mental health facilities at Tolworth that will provide the best environments for recovery and care.
The redevelopment is part of an ambitious programme of investment by the mental health Trust to improve its facilities across south west London. Work is already underway at Springfield Hospital where two new hospital buildings will open later this year.
Since receiving approval from Kingston Council to redevelop Tolworth Hospital in 2018, the Trust has taken the opportunity to revisit the plans, revise and improve them, to ensure the new buildings will provide the best possible facilities for patients and staff.
The Trust has brought forward a number of changes which includes an improved layout to better reflect the needs of its services, replacing a two-storey car park with ground level parking with a similar number of spaces, and revising the approach to energy so it no longer requires a separate energy centre.
Before the Trust submits the revised plans to Kingston Council, it is holding two online events on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 March to showcase the plans to the community. More information about these events, including how to register to attend, can be found on the Trust’s website.
The proposals will also be displayed along the hospital boundary fence on Red Lion Road from Monday 28 February until Sunday 13 March for residents to view at their convenience.
