London actor Harris Dickinson wins Best Young British Performer Award

Last night, London-born HARRIS DICKINSON won the Best Young British/Irish Performer Award at the prestigious London Critics’ Circle Film Awards which was held at the May Fair Hotel.  His award-winning performance can be enjoyed again in Eliza Hittman’s BEACH RATS, which is released by Peccadillo Pictures on DVD/ VOD on 5th Feburary.       

Eliza Hittman’s Sundance award winning BEACH RATS is the acclaimed follow up to her directorial debut IT FELT LIKE LOVE. The raw, exquisitely crafted, uncompromising drama stars British newcomer Harris Dickinson who is featured in Screen International’s prestigious Stars of Tomorrow 2017 list. He stars as the smouldering intense Frankie, a troubled teen cogitating his sexual identity, in the break out performance of the year that has won him the Best Young British/ Irish Performer Award at thus year’s London Critics’ Circle Film Awards..

Living on the edges of Brooklyn, Frankie is having a miserable summer and prefers to find escape by causing trouble with his delinquent friends and flirting with older men online. His struggle to reconcile competing desires hurtles him towards irreparable consequences.

Director Eliza Hittman won critical acclaim for her debut feature It Felt Like Love. Harris Dickinson has been nominated for best actor in Spirit Awards  as well as making Evening Standard British Film Awards longlist. He is a British name to watch in 2018 and will next be seen in Danny Boyle’s much anticipated TV series Trust and Steve McLean’s Postcards from London, released by Peccadillo later in the year.
