The winners of the 2022 Amazon everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards have been announced. Now in their 15th year, the awards celebrated 16 outstanding individuals working in the transport and logistics sector, honouring and championing their achievements as well as recognising them as role models for the next generation of female talent.
This year’s winners encompassed a wide range of career experiences and journeys – from apprentice to senior leader – showcasing both the breadth of opportunities available for women in this traditionally male-dominated industry and the vital contribution women make across all sectors of the industry; from freight and retail to automotive, maritime and air transport. These individuals not only make positive contributions to the businesses for which they work, but also encourage other women to achieve success by supporting and mentoring young female talent.
The awards recognised two winners per category; one successful industry “Leader” and one individual going “Above and Beyond” for their business, as well as one recipient for each of the Industry Champion, Male Agent of Change and Apprentice of the Year Awards.
The 2022 Woman of the Year Award was given to Faye Calland, Senior Manager – Same Day Operations at FedEx, from Warwick, a position she has held since 2015. The judges were impressed by her 25 years’ worth of experience and success across several roles, from implementing reorganisations to introducing technology that delivered a £2.4m annual saving to the business. An active mentor, group coach and lead chair of the FedEx Women Inclusion Network (WIL), she has been instrumental in increasing the network’s membership by 138% to 400 members which includes over 50 male colleagues. Empowering these members to be male agents of change is important to Faye.
