Staff at a local audiologists are preparing to bake up a storm in the kitchen for a special cake sale in support of Tinnitus UK.
The team at Specsavers Purley is inviting the local community to join them on Wednesday 5 February for a sweet treat and a chance to raise vital funds for the charity.
The cake sale, coinciding with Tinnitus Awareness Week (3-9 February), will kick off at 10am and take place at Specsavers Purley, located at 943 Brighton Road.
All proceeds from the sale will be donated to Tinnitus UK, a charity that provides free support to people living with tinnitus and their carers, while also advancing research into the condition.
Tinnitus, a condition affecting approximately one in seven adults in the UK[1], causes individuals to hear sounds such as ringing, buzzing, hissing, or whistling, even though no external sound is present and can significantly impact quality of life.
‘Tinnitus can be a difficult and isolating experience for many and we are proud to support Tinnitus UK in raising awareness and funds to help those affected,’ says Charlotte Paterson, audiologist at Specsavers Purley.
‘We hope our bake sale will not only raise much-needed funds but also bring the community together to support those impacted by tinnitus.
‘If you’re experiencing any unusual sounds in your ears or hearing, it’s important to seek advice from a professional. We are here to help with any concerns about hearing health.’
Specsavers Purley’s specialist audiology team offers a range of hearing services, including hearing tests, hearing aid sales, and repairs. They are also available to provide general guidance and support to the community on hearing health.
