London Designer Outlet transforms Guest Services into multi-sensory, wellness space for shoppers this Black Friday

London’s leading outlet shopping centre, London Designer Outlet (LDO), is offering more than just great deals this Black Friday – it’s offering its community a chance to recharge. The debut of Rest Services will transform LDO’s Guest Services suite into a multi-sensory wellbeing hub, creating a serene space for wellness amidst the busiest shopping weekend of the year.

Driven by insights that 57% of shoppers experience anxiety about in-store shopping[1], and 70% feel increased stress during the festive season[2], the initiative reflects LDO’s commitment to customer wellbeing and its position as a central hub for the surrounding communities and families of Wembley.

With calming sensory lighting, soothing sounds, and serene design, this wellbeing space offers a peaceful escape from the anticipated shopping frenzy in partnership with LDO’s luxury and wellbeing brands, including RITUALS, Holland & Barrett, and The Body Shop.

RITUALS, which recently opened at LDO, will offer complimentary hand massages to all visitors in store using products from their luxury skincare collection; while Holland & Barrett and The Body Shop will provide refreshments and personal care samples to further enhance the self-care experience.

On Friday 29th November, Secret Spa therapists will be on hand to offer complimentary head and shoulder massages and refreshments will be available from 11-1pm, offering guests a relaxing moment whilst shopping. Terms and conditions apply.

Rest Services will be open to all visitors at the Guest (Rest) Services area in the heart of LDO from Friday, November 29th to Monday 2nd December 2024.
Michelle D’Vaz Plant, Head of Marketing at LDO, states: “At LDO, we pride ourselves on offering big brands with bigger Savings every day. We understand the joy that securing a great bargain brings to festive gifting and offer price points to suit all budgets.

With community at the core of our values, this year we’re redefining the shopping experience throughout the centre by introducing calming blue lighting and sounds, with exclusive brand offers to ensure every visitor feels truly valued during Black Friday—a weekend expected to bring a 15% increase in foot traffic.”

“Shopping, especially during peak times like Black Friday, can create a highly stimulating environment that heightens stress and decision fatigue,” Debbie Gray, Retail Development Manager at LDO. Sharing her top tips to most commonly asked questions, Gray adds:

How can I prepare to get the best deals?
“You will find some incredible offers. Pre shop and know what you want so you know where you are heading in to buy on the day. Some of the best offers include a spend threshold, if what you want won’t reach that threshold – team up with a friend who is also interested in buying from the same shop.”

When is the best time to shop?
“We are open 9am to 9pm on both Black Friday and Black Saturday, shop early or late for a quieter experience. Generally, the best time to shop for no queues is first thing in the morning from 10 am to 11 am. It’ll also quieten down at the end of the day, so 7 pm to 8 pm Monday to Saturday is a good time for a calmer browse.”

When does new stock land at LDO?
“There is an art to pinpointing top-notch discounts. Each brand from Calvin Klein to Converse will have its own delivery schedule. Tuesday and Saturday are our heaviest drop days at London Designer Outlet. These are the best days to hunt down the fresh arrivals across fashion, homeware, and beauty.”

Am I just buying old stock?
“No, outlets are not filled to the seams with last season’s unwanted trends. The centre is varied mix of discounted previous season items, as well as overstock from current full price lines, and you’ll also find exclusive ‘made for outlet’ lines across the shopping destination.”

As a family, what else is there to do at LDO? “Make a day of it! London Designer Outlet has many family-friendly restaurants and a nine-screen cinema showing the latest blockbusters from Hollywood to Bollywood and everything in between. Cineworld also has a dedicated 4DX screen, combining a theme park ride with a movie for a truly immersive event. The first Sunday of the month features a dedicated autism-friendly showing.”
