London based designer Kayla, founder of Meeko Handmade, has won the Kids category in the Etsy Design Awards 2025. The awards spotlight creativity and craftsmanship from independent makers across the globe.
Born in China and based in London, Kayla is a ceramic artist who transforms everyday moments into playful narrative pieces. Her work blends imagination, patience, and cultural influences, shaping clay into objects that feel warm, gentle, and story-filled.
FLOWER is a hand-built ceramic fairytale book designed to be both artwork and interactive discovery. Each page features flower-shaped cutouts revealing a caterpillar’s journey into a butterfly, with small surprises tucked into every layer. No two books are ever the same, each one is individually crafted, inviting curiosity, touch, and joy.
The winner was handpicked by Molly Baz, a bestselling cookbook author and tastemaker, and Willett, a creative director and furniture designer, alongside our resident judge, Etsy Trend Expert, Dayna Isom Johnson.
Speaking on the awards, Dayna Isom Johnson, Etsy Trend Expert, said: “Etsy Design Awards finalists represent the heart of our community: small businesses whose creativity inspires buyers and sets new standards for craftsmanship”
