Lucas Cloves, 24, from Fulham has taken up the challenge of running a marathon every day for 50 days in London to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.

Lucas aims to raise more than £20,000 by running the 42.2 kilometre marathon distance every day for 50 days. He started his challenge on 24 August 2025 and is set to finish on the 11 October 2025 in Battersea Park.

Not only has he taken on the mammoth challenge, but he’s been doing it alongside his day job.

He’s running various routes across London in the mornings before work and can often be seen in across London’s Royal Parks and streets – Battersea and Richmond Park being regular routes.

Lucas plans on finishing his challenge with a 5k run starting at 2pm in Battersea Park on the 11 October and is encouraging people to come along and join him.

Speaking about the challenge, Lucas said: “I decided to do this challenge of 50 full marathons back-to-back in 50 days all for one reason, to raise awareness and support for Alzheimer’s Society.

“Alzheimer’s is a disease which affects millions of people around the world and is a cause that is deeply personal to me, having seen how it affected my family when my both my grandmas were diagnosed it.

“I’ve seen what dementia does, it slowly takes away memories and independence, and eventually the person you once knew -it’s heartbreaking.

“I’m not a professional runner, far from it – it’s the hardest challenge of my life so far. I’m doing it to push my limits and to fight for something that really matters.

“I want you to be part of my journey, be it by donating on my Just Giving page, sharing my fundraising story, or running a few kilometres with me, your support means everything to me.

“It’s great to think that I will be raising funds for Alzheimer’s Society to help support people living with dementia now and to fund research to one day find a cure for dementia.”

Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. One in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime.

Alzheimer’s Society’s Senior Running Events Fundraising Manager Jade Smith: “It’s wonderful that Lucas is raising money and awareness Alzheimer’s Society through his challenge. Dementia devastates lives, but dementia won’t win.

“Until the day we find a cure, Alzheimer’s Society will be here to support anyone affected by dementia, wherever they are, whatever they’re going through. It will take a society to beat dementia, and we need more people like Lucas to join us now and unite against dementia.”
