A trust which runs three schools in London is celebrating after being shortlisted an impressive four times in major national education awards.
E-ACT Multi Academy Trust, which operates Braintcroft E-ACT Primary Academy, City Heights E-ACT Academy and E-ACT Crest Academy, has been named a finalist in four categories at the MAT Excellence Awards 2026:
MAT of the Year
Environmental Trust of the Year
SEND Award
Staff Development Award
The MAT Excellence Awards, organised by Optimus Education, recognise the very best multi-academy trusts from across the UK and are judged by a panel of education experts.
Being shortlisted in four categories places E-ACT among a small number of trusts nationally recognised for the quality and impact of their work – from supporting pupils with additional needs, to developing staff, strengthening leadership and improving sustainability in schools.
For families in London, the nominations reflect the trust’s focus on creating welcoming, inclusive schools where children feel supported, valued and able to succeed.
The SEND Award nomination highlights E-ACT’s commitment to ensuring pupils with special educational needs and disabilities receive the right support, while the Staff Development Award recognises its investment in training and empowering teachers and support staff.
The Environmental Trust of the Year category celebrates work to embed sustainable practices across schools, and the MAT of the Year nomination reflects the trust’s overall leadership and vision.
Tom Campbell, CEO of E-ACT, said:
“Being shortlisted in four categories is a huge achievement and something we’re incredibly proud of.
“These nominations reflect the passion and dedication of our staff, and the brilliant pupils we work with every day – including those at our London schools.
“Everything we do is about making sure children feel supported, included and excited about learning, and it’s wonderful to see that recognised at a national level.”
He added:
“Our London schools sit at the heart of their communities, and this recognition belongs to our pupils, families and staff who make them such positive places to learn and work.”
Winners will be announced at the MAT Excellence Awards ceremony on Thursday 18 June 2026 at the Royal National Hotel in London. The evening will include a gala dinner and will be hosted by broadcaster Jason Mohammad.
The awards are held in partnership with the Confederation of School Trusts and the Institute of School Business Leadership.
