London Square has unveiled Ransome’s Wharf, the latest addition to its growing Prime
Collection. More than a residential address, the scheme marks a pivotal moment in the
regeneration of Ransome’s Dock, opening up a new public walkway and plaza through the site.

When complete, water flow into the dock will be restored for the first time in decades through the installation of new dock gates.

This striking dockside development of 118 new homes arranged between five buildings and set
among landscaped gardens will be anchored by a vibrant new plaza with more than 19,000 sq ft of commercial space comprising a mix of restaurants, cafés and leisure tenants.

London based architectural practice Fourfoursixsix was commissioned to translate a historic consent into a contemporary riverside development that meets today’s highest standards of design,
sustainability, safety and craftsmanship, while British based design house Echlin has been selected to deliver the interior architecture, material palette and spatial experience of the homes, both setting the architectural and design tone for this next chapter.

Occupying a 1.6-acre site just south of Chelsea between Albert Bridge and Battersea Bridge, the development of 94 apartments for private sale and 24 affordable homes stands on the former home of Ransome & Co., an engineering works that formed part of Battersea’s dockside industrial heritage.

That legacy anchors the architectural narrative, with the scheme drawing on a
refined warehouse aesthetic – expressed through robust proportions, brickwork and metal detailing – to create a distinctly modern identity rooted in the site’s industrial past. The resulting
scheme draws on the timeless appeal of warehouse architecture, reimagined as a collection of elegant, light-filled homes designed for contemporary riverside living.

Positioned at the heart of Battersea’s Creative Quarter – home to Foster + Partners, the Royal
College of Art and the late Vivienne Westwood’s atelier – Ransome’s Wharf enhances the area’s
cultural identity while contributing to its ongoing evolution. Crucially, it will reconnect the
neighbourhood with the Thames and completes a long-disjointed section of the riverside path.
Adam Lawrence, Chief Executive Officer, London Square, commented:
“Ransomes Wharf represents an exciting new chapter for our Prime Collection – a design -led
riverside destination that embodies the craftsmanship, creativity and quality that define this next
evolution of the London Square brand. Battersea’s Creative Quarte r has long been a place of
innovation, and this development continues that story by honouring the site’s past while
introducing a new era of refined contemporary living on the Thames. ”
The architectural approach ensures every home enjoys a meaningful relationship with the
outdoors, with balconies, terraces or access to landscaped gardens throughout. At ground level,
curated retail, dining and wellness spaces will form a vibrant new plaza, extending a refined
Chelsea-meets-Battersea aesthetic south of the river. Residents will also benefit from concierge
services, secure underground parking and access to communal courtyard.
Echlin, appointed as Interior Architect for the entire scheme, has taken cues from Battersea’s
dockside setting and creative heritage to shape a calm, layered interior approach. Natural
materials, considered proportions and a restrained palette sit alongside the building’s
warehouse character, creating light-filled homes defined by longevity, craft and wellbeing.
