GoHenry, the financial education app and prepaid debit card for kids and teens, is thrilled to reveal the winners of its annual Dream Big competition, including Freya (14) from Croydon and Rosalie (13) from Notting Hill. The initiative supports the ambitions of Gen Z and Gen Alpha by awarding nine inspiring young people a £1,000 grant to help bring their dreams to life.

The competition received an impressive 6,000+ entries from kids aged 6-18 across three categories: Community, Talent, and Kidpreneur. A panel of judges – freestyle footballer Lia Lewis, teen baker Zak Traves, and community leader Courtney Daniella Boateng – along with a GoHenry and public vote, selected the final winners from a shortlist of 22 exceptional finalists.

Freya won the judges vote in the ‘Community’ category with her idea for female hygiene packages. Freya worked on a project addressing female hygiene in her community, focusing on making products accessible, educating others about its importance, and breaking the stigma around discussing it. Freya’s goal is to lead fun, engaging hygiene sessions in primary schools, with healthcare professionals involved, and create hygiene care boxes for Year 6 girls. With Freya’s prize money, she hopes to continue this project by boosting confidence in hygiene among future high schoolers through education and awareness.

Rosalie won the judges vote in the ‘Talent’ category with her love of lacrosse. Over the past three years, Rosalie has dedicated countless hours to training and playing lacrosse, striving to improve with each practice. Her goal for the next five years is to make her school’s first team and then make it into England’s under 20’s team. She is currently on the England talent pathway, but with the help of the prize money, she can take this to the next step with new equipment.

Freya said: “When I found out I’d won, I was so excited! I couldn’t believe my idea had been recognised and that it connected with so many people – it’s such an honour! I’m so grateful to GoHenry for this opportunity – it’s inspired me to keep going and make my idea a success.”

“I’m using the prize money to create an app for girls to support them through their period journey. I want to help girls feel more confident because knowledge is power – and the more you know about your body, the more in control you feel.”

Rosalie said: “Playing lacrosse means the world to me, and I’ve got big dreams for where it could take me. Paying for competitions and kit can be a lot, so winning this competition has really helped me keep competing at a high level. My new lacrosse stick is amazing, and I’m aiming high for next year. Maybe one day, I’ll even get to represent my country!”

Louise Hill, GoHenry’s co-founder and CEO, commented: “Gen Z and Generation Alpha never cease to amaze me with their creativity, drive, and compassion. I always encourage young people to embrace opportunities and take action – just as the ‘go’ in GoHenry implies. It’s inspiring to see so many kids and teens doing just that. Huge congratulations to Freya and Rosalie and all our winners!”
