Evidence suggests the nation’s transport industry and supply chain face major engineering and green skills shortages – particularly as demand for new green skills grows with the UK focused on hitting net zero carbon. This Skills Late helps break down barriers for young Londoners – including those from a broad range of educational experiences and those underrepresented in these industries – showing them that careers in transport, engineering and technology can be for them.
Skills Late: Talent Transported is part of the Museum’s Enjoyment to Employment programme, a collective response looking beyond the short-term to secure the future of the transport industry by tackling the growing green skills shortage. This important education and social impact work is only possible thanks to our industry partners ABM, Cubic Transportation Systems, Hitachi Rail, Sopra Steria, Telent and Transport for London and support from John Lyon’s Charity, Kusuma Trust, London Transport Museum Friends and Luke Rees-Pulley Charitable Trust.
Skills Late: Talent Transported runs on Thursday 30 January from 18:30 to 21:00. Tickets are free but places are limited so advance booking is essential. Soft drinks and light snacks will be available.
Tickets can be booked on London Transport Museum’s website: https://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whats-on/skills-late-talent-transported-2025
