London Wetland Centre and Brixton-based charity Poetic Unity have teamed up to help protect London’s natural habits.

The two London organisations have collaborated to create a poetry film to raise awareness about the importance of nature and wildlife preservation, titled ‘Symbiosis – A Love Letter to Nature’.

The poem, written by Amaarah Roze of Poetic Unity after a group of Poetic Unity members spent a day immersing themselves in the wetlands, highlights the fears the next generation have for the future of the natural world, but also the courage they have to fight for the existence of Mother Nature.

Alexia Hollinshead, General Manager at London Wetland Centre, said: “Working with Poetic Unity to draw attention to the importance of nature in fighting the climate crisis, and using wetlands as a backdrop to do so has been an amazing experience.

“Wetlands are incredible – from great sweeping salt marshes to humble urban rain gardens, they provide a wide range of ‘nature-based solutions’ and are essential to life on Earth for generations to come. We hope Symbiosis – A Love Letter to Nature encourages more people to act now to protect our future.”
Ryan J. Matthews-Robinson, Founder & CEO at Poetic Unity, said: “Nature is so important to the future of the world that young people will live in and collaborating with WWT to highlight this was the perfect way to get this message across.”

Symbiosis – A Love Letter To Nature was directed by Ryan J. Matthews-Robinson, and written and performed by Amaarah Roze, with cinematography by William Hadley. The full film is available to watch at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGW23Y6_e8Y.
