Prepare for a pho-nomenal experience this summer as Deliveroo is set to drop anchor on a London riverside to launch the capital’s first riverside delivery service – Pho on the Canal – in partnership with exclusive-to-Deliveroo restaurant, Pho.
From Tuesday, 16th to Wednesday, 17th September, City Road Lock, Regent’s Canal Towpath in London (near Cafe Galata) will be brought to life with an immersive pop-up experience inspired by the floating markets of Vietnam, including crates full of fresh ingredients commonly seen in Pho’s dishes and vibrant foliage.
Visitors can pho-get their food plans as they are guided along the towpath to a bespoke red delivery archway, where they can collect one complimentary freshly-prepared Pho salad* which has just been delivered to the canal side by a ‘Pho on the Canal’ boat, skippered by a Deliveroo rider.
The ‘Pho on the Canal’ delivery boat itself will be packed with teal Deliveroo delivery bags full of fresh Pho salads, adorned with brightly teal-coloured fishing nets and baskets brimming with fresh produce, including colourful peppers, tomatoes, pineapples and banana leaves, inspired by traditional Vietnamese ingredients used in Pho salads.
To complete the experience, a dedicated riverside dining area will also be available for guests to stop and enjoy their free Pho salad with their companions. A wooden pergola decorated with climbing plants, baskets of fresh produce, and dotted with vibrant Pho red stools and high wooden tables, will bring the relaxed feel of a local Pho restaurant to the waterfront. Otherwise, visitors can find a spot to tuck into their Pho salads on the canalside side..
