Think pond skimming is only for the mountains? Think again. This Saturday (11 October), icebreaker – the New Zealand-born merino wool brand – is celebrating its 30th anniversary by bringing London’s very first urban pond skim to Potters Fields Park, right beneath Tower Bridge. And yes – there will be tonnes of real snow.
From 12-6pm, the park transforms into Skim City, where pro skiers and riders from the UK snowsports community will show Londoners how it’s done – while the public can give it a go too.
Never tried pond skimming before? No problem. Coaches from Maison Sport will be on hand for tutorials, helping first-timers test their balance across the ice waters.
It’s completely free to watch, family friendly and guaranteed to bring an après vibe to the heart of the capital.
Where: Potters Fields Park, SE1, 2UD
When: Saturday 11th October, 12-6pm
