The three-day free cultural event organised by the Royal Thai Embassy, Thailand Showcase, is returning to the Canopy Market in Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross, London, at the end of June. Each year the event showcases the best of Thailand’s food, drink, arts, tourism and culture, and this year’s theme is ‘Unleashing Thai Creativity’ – it’s a must visit!

Following the success of previous years, with around 40,000 visitors in 2023, this year’s Thailand Showcase is set to be even more spectacular, as it takes over a larger event space and features over 30 pop-up stores and an amazing line-up of performances. This year’s event will include:

Taste of Thailand: Visitors can explore a culinary paradise with specially selected vendors offering high-quality, authentic Thai food and beverages, including the popular Farang London (the Michelin Bib Gourmand), Slurps noodle, The Great Thai Rice and Noodle, Siam Niyom, and Chicken and Egg. These restaurants will offer a variety of options from flavourful snacks to classic favourites, such as Som Tum (papaya salad), Kao Soi (northern Thailand curry noodle), Gai yang (grilled chicken) and much more. Chang Beer will also open a pop-up Chang Espresso Café offering free samples of its new Chang Espresso Lager, debuting outside of Asia for the first-time.

Thai Cultural Shows: Enjoy exclusive performances of Thai classical and modern dances, with performers flown in directly from Thailand, including the renown Thai puppet show and Mor Lam (festive Isan folk dance), bringing the country’s rich cultural heritage to life through vibrant and captivating shows.

Amazing Thailand: In collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, EVA Air, and other businesses in the hospitality industry, visitors can travel virtually to Thailand, and benefit from special air ticket promotions and other special holiday packages at the event.

Innovative Thailand: Showcasing Thailand’s creative minds and advancements in the field of innovation and sustainable products. One such exhibitor will be Kera Protein, from researcher and designer Sorawut who has discovered a way of extracting protein from chicken feathers and turning it into an edible “meat-like” product. The product went viral with media coverage on CNN, Reuters and Nas Daily and you can find out more first hand at Thailand Showcase. The brand will sit alongside many other creative design products by talented Thai designers, and visitors will be able to see the progress Thailand has made towards a low-carbon economy.

The Thailand Showcase event will also include opportunities to win raffle prizes including luxurious getaways, round-trip air tickets to Thailand, exclusive merchandise, hospitality tickets to selected Premier League football teams and much more.

Opening times for this year’s Thailand Showcase are 1-8pm on Friday 28th June and 11am-6pm on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June. It’s set to be an unforgettable celebration of Thai culture, creativity and innovation. So put the dates in your diary and head down to experience the magic of Thailand!
