Hong Kong’s cult-favourite street food spot Mammy Pancake is crossing continents and setting up shop on Portobello Road, Notting Hill, officially opening its doors on Friday 18 July 2025 and they’re bringing the goods. To celebrate the launch of their first-ever outpost outside of Asia, Mammy Pancake is giving away 100 free bubble waffles. All you have to do? Founded in Hong Kong in July 2009, Mammy Pancake has grown into a celebrated brand with over twenty branches across Hong Kong and Taiwan. For six consecutive years (2016–2021) with the Michelin Street Food Recommendation, Mammy Pancake has become synonymous with culinary craftsmanship and nostalgic comfort. Innovating upon traditional methods, with an emphasis on quality ingredients, the signature bubble waffles deliver a crispy outer shell with a soft, chewy centre that evokes the timeless warmth of “mammy’s” home cooking. From an appearance at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival to partnerships with exciting brands including Disney and Twinings, Mammy Pancake’s exciting journey continues into one of London’s much-loved areas.
Londoners will be able to enjoy the same authentic experience, thanks to franchise partners Brendan Ho and Donald Lai – both originating from Hong Kong, who bring with them a shared passion for global cuisine and innovation in hospitality, and a mission to bring a part of Hong Kong culture to the UK.
The menu will feature much of the Mammy Pancake Hong Kong classics such as the Mammy Chocolate bubble waffle, Earl Grey bubble waffle, Double Cheese bubble waffle, and the Signature Original. In addition, guests can enjoy the brand’s signature checkered waffles, available in a range of classic and creative flavours. Seasonal specials will run throughout the year, such as the Peppermint Chocolate (for Christmas) and White Rabbit Candy (for Easter), alongside a selection of drinks including Hong Kong Style Milk Tea, Fresh Hong Kong Style Lemon Tea, and Fresh Lemonade. A selection of exclusive flavours for the UK market will be unveiled shortly, with updates published on social media.
