Marylebone Village returns with the annual summer festival on Saturday 10th June and Sunday 11th June, with an outstanding weekend line-up featuring pop up outdoor film screenings, live music performances, a dog show, alfresco bars, food and gift stalls, shopping, alfresco dining and more.
On Saturday 10th June, Paddington Street Gardens will host a spectacular open-air cinema which will be showing two films for the first time ever, to be enjoyed in the day or under the stars at night; a family friendly screening of Disney’s Encanto (U) at 1:30pm and blockbuster hit Elvis (12A) at 8pm. All profits from the cinema tickets will go to the London-based Greenhouse Sports charity who use sport to engage young people and help them reach their full potential. Tickets for Encanto can be booked via Design My Night.
Disney’s 60th animated feature Encanto is a musical adventure that tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia. The magic of the charmed town Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal—every child except one, Mirabel. The creative movie is a dynamic heartfelt story with catchy songs and beautiful vibrant visuals. Adult tickets will be £10, children tickets £7, and there will be a limited number of family of four tickets available for £30.
The epic big-screen spectacle, Elvis, is a biographical drama film capturing the life of the American music icon Elvis Presley, from his childhood to his rise to fame in the 1950s, seen through the prism of his complex relationship with his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. From Oscar-nominated filmmaker Baz Luhrmann’s dazzling energy, to Austin Butler’s outstanding lead performance (winning BAFTA and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor), Elvis delivers an American fairytale that is cinematic dynamite.
Prices for Elvis start at £15pp with the option to sit on the grass and bring your own blanket. For a deckchair and silent headphones, tickets are £20pp. VIP tickets are £30pp and include a free ‘Hound Dog’ cocktail/mocktail from 108 Brasserie, a deck chair, silent headphones and blanket.
In the tranquil surroundings of the open gardens, there will be pre-film activities to enjoy including free table tennis, live music, food stalls and a festival pop-up bar in partnership with 108 Brasserie. The bar will serve a range of quality drinks and a special themed cocktail named ‘Hound Dog’ for VIP cinema ticket holders to raise a glass to the King of Rock & Roll. The aromatic cocktail will consist of Jack Daniels (dedicated to Elvis’s teenage years in Tennessee), Campari with sweet peach notes (emulating peach brandy that was a favourite of Elvis’s later in life) and garnished with grapefruit and mint for the perfect summer drink. Pick up a bite to eat from a range of food vendors, including The Coach Makers Arms serving pub classics like Fish and Chips, and crepes to satisfy sweet treat cravings.
