To celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season, central London destination Marylebone Village has announced details of their brand new sustainable Christmas lights display, and their ‘Merry Marylebone’ festive switch on event taking place on Thursday 9 November 2023, 3pm – 8pm.
The event will be hosted in support of mental health charity partner Mind Brent Wandsworth and Westminster. There will be a switch on moment for the impressive Christmas Lights from the Devonshire Street stage, hosted by BBC London’s Jo Good at 6pm, and a soon to be announced celebrity guest.
Visitors are invited to experience an unforgettable evening of festive workshops, artisan market stalls featuring many Marylebone Village favourites, roaming music, late night shopping and a celebrity switch on moment. A range of festive activities will also be in full swing, including a Santa’s Grotto, a Ferris Wheel, wreath making workshops and the local favourite charity tombola.
This year, a brand-new Christmas lights display, designed by Blachere Illumination, will be illuminating the streets of Marylebone Village for the festive season. With sustainability at the forefront, the new lights are made 100% out of plastic recycled bottles and have an energy-saving LED system that produces 95% lower consumption than conventional lighting. The reduced operation hours also saves 58.2% more energy than if the system relied solely on street lighting schedules.
