Max Halley to host festive sandwich masterclass in London

To embrace the season of socialising and feasting, Peroni Nastro Azzurro invite food and drink lovers to join a mouth-watering masterclass which reinvigorates theclassic boxing Day sandwich, with unique cocktail making at London’s popular riverside venue, The Glasshouse at Winter by the River.

Teaming up with expert Max Halley, lauded proprietor of Max’s Sandwich Shop, the “Festive Sips and Subs by Peroni Nastro Azzurro” offers a one hour experience to learn the art of making the perfectItalian sub featuring a meaty, cheesy, flavourful filling to pair with a Peroni Nastro Azzurro.

The signature sub, dubbed the ‘Peroni Polpetta Marinara Melt’, will feature sage-loaded turkey meatballs, rich Marinara sauce, and a three-cheese flavour combination to use up a festive cheese board, with smoky scamorza, oozy mozzarella and nutty parmesan for a delicious boxing day sandwich offering. The festive sub is then topped off with a sweet, sharp Peroni Nastro Azzurro infused mustard to add a beery bite, all housed in a warm, chewy ciabatta for a perfect bite of Italian magic.

Each guest attending “Festive Sips and Subs by Peroni Nastro Azzurro” will also receive a bespoke tutorial from model turned mixologist, Portia Freeman, who has created the ‘Festive Peroni Spritz’ – the perfect balance of sweet and savoury to complement Max’s Italian sub. Featuring aged tequila to echo the smoky scamorza in the sandwich, along with a hit of soy, sage syrup and lemon juice. Topped with crisp Peroni Nastro Azzurro, the palate cleansing spritz is sweet, smoky, and zingy, with a touch of the beer’s iconic citrus notes.

Running from 13 November 2025 to January 4, 2026, “Festive Sips and Subs by Peroni Nastro Azzurro” marks the brand’s return as lead beer partner at The Glasshouse, Winter by The River. The iconicChristmas market is a focal point of Southbank activities and situated between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. Attracting over 4million visitors each season it features market stalls, food and drink, and seasonal activities against a backdrop of landmarks like Tower Bridge and the City skyline.
