RideLondon returned for another exhilarating year on Sunday 29 July, taking place along the streets of London, including roads in Raynes Park and Wimbledon.
Mayor of Merton’s rider, senior cycle engineer Paul Miles took on this year’s challenge and cycled the 100 mile course in a very respectable 5 hours and 18 minutes considering the very wet and windy conditions. Paul has raised over £1,000 for the Mayor’s charities, The Colour House Theatre and the Friends in St Helier, known as FISH.
The impressive 100 mile route went from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford to Buckingham Palace via surrey hills and through Merton, Wandsworth and Kensington and Chelsea.
The council once again worked with organisers and Merton Police to minimise disruption to residents and ensure the success of the world-class event.
