Construction at Angel Village, the flagship development for investor-developer Bentry Capital, is progressing ahead of the scheme’s completion next year, with Mellior Group awarded the entire £21 million construction contract in Islington.

The Zone 1 office to residential conversion development is reimagining former offices into design-led, light filled homes; there will be 130 homes in total, with 88 delivered in the first phase and the first owners to move in Q1 2027.

The office strip out commenced onsite in September 2025, with an 18-month programme; the fit out began in January 2026, with a show apartment to be delivered this spring. Headquartered in Liverpool, Mellior Group has a dedicated team of 10 on the scheme, with 40 operatives onsite daily and up to 120 on site during peak activity. Works to date include the removal of the original curtain walling to add green wall facades, removal of the existing staircase and minor structural alterations. Interior Design Architects Ademchic have worked closely with the Project Architect Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson to design the scheme to cleverly repurpose the existing architecture into spacious homes with a high specification, a mixture of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. The scheme will provide secure underground parking, with landscaped gardens and onsite concierge.

On a 1.7-acre site, Angel Village is located off City Road, with the new homes tucked away behind elegant arches.Mellior Group highlights that the works are being carefully managed so not to disrupt any existing office spaces nearby, with site traffic and logistics coordinated accordingly.

Steven Hughes, Operations Lead for Mellior Group says: “With every development site there are unique challenges and Angel Village is in a very central location, so coordination and thoughtful logistics are essential for a smooth delivery. Our construction works are planned and phased in order to reduce the impact on neighbouring tenants. We are progressing quickly and the site is already taking shape.”

David Cain, Chief Development Officer at Bentry Capital says: “Our in-house construction arm Mellior Group is an invaluable part of our business and helps us ensure complete oversight for every development. Where Angel Villageis our flagship London site, we were approached by multiple London-based contractors, but we know the quality, precision and attention to detail Mellior Group embodies and we’re proud to have them leading this scheme.”
