British music artist and show host Shizzio has welcomed The Chancellors new 50% discount for eating out.
Rishi Sunak announced that in the coming weeks, restaurants and hospitality venues will be able to offer a 50% discount for any customer eating in or taking out from Monday to Wednesday each week, all as a part of the “Eat Out to Help Out” scheme.
From next week, all hospitality venues across the UK will benefit from a 15% reduction in VAT, from 20% to 5%, until January 2021.
Shizzio told us “For me personally this is amazing news because I love to go and eat out with friends and family, but I feel this support package was also badly needed for the hospitality industry to save them.”
Shizzio who recently started hosting his own show dubbed “The Shizzio Show” added on, “These schemes constitute an unprecedented support package for the hospitality sector, over 80% of which was forced to cease trading in March as a result of the Coronavirus, so in a nutshell these are needed to keep people in jobs.”
