Mytime Active has invested in new smart training equipment for its Pavilion Leisure Centre and Spa at Beckenham gyms. The new EGYM equipment will be revealed at a free EGYM Gameday event, being held at The Pavilion on 11 September.
EGYM’s revolutionary equipment personalises every workout for every user. After a quick initial set up, members simply scan a special sticker at the machines to log in. Each subsequent workout is adapted to suit their body and strength levels, ensuring a safe, effective training session every time. The new EGYM kit also generates a BioAge, giving each member an indication of how ‘old’ their body is compared to their real age – based on their fitness and health. EGYM then helps members work towards lowering their BioAge, retesting them every six sessions to see how they’re progressing and adapting workouts accordingly.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, there’s no excuse to skip strength training. Building muscle supports your body, boosts energy and helps you stay strong, mobile and independent at any stage of life. Because we know how vital strength training is, we’ve invested in new EGYM equipment for The Pavilion Leisure Centre and The Spa at Beckenham, to help our members get the most of out every single workout,” says Steve May, Chief Executive at Mytime Active.
“EGYM is like having a personal trainer built into the machine; it sets up everything automatically, from the seat height and the weight to how many reps you do. No guesswork, no fiddling with pins or dials – just tap a sticker and the machine adjusts to you,” adds Darren Anderson, sales manager at EGYM. “A clever gamified screen helps to guide each rep, showing you how fast or slow to move. You get real strength improvements without having to worry about what to do next.”
To celebrate the installation of the new kit, Mytime Active will be holding a free EGYM Gameday at The Pavilion on 11 September. The event will feature interactive sessions throughout the day, designed so that anyone, at any age and fitness level, can take
part. Gameday prizes will include one free six-month membership, three free one-month memberships, free PT sessions and EGYM goodies. There will also be a prize raffle draw. Challenges on the day will include The Strength Showdown, where participants will battle to complete as many reps as possible at their EGYM smart-calculated 70% max (don’t worry, the machine will work it all out for you!), and the Benjamin Button BioAge Challenge, where competitors strive to have the widest positive gap between their real age and their EGYM BioAge for strength, flexibility and metabolism.
The day will start at 9am, with registration for the challenges at 9.30am before a 10am start. Visit: https://www.mytimeactive.co.uk/gameday
