National Express is significantly enhancing its services between London and Stansted Airport, adding new stops and increasing frequency across key London locations in response to strong customer demand.
From 8 December 2025, the UK’s leading scheduled coach operator will introduce a new timetable designed to give travellers faster, more frequent and better connected journeys to the airport.
Key enhancements include:
More journeys from Liverpool Street – departures will increase from 49 to 86 journeys a day, providing up to four services an hour
Bethnal Green reintroduced as a stop location, improving access for East London passengers
Services from Canary Wharf increases from 22 to 35, offering round-the-clock journeys 24 hours a day
Faster journeys between Stansted and Stratford, with trips taking as little as 45 minutes
The enhanced timetable offers a stress-free alternative to costly car and rail travel. With over 300 daily journeys between London and Stansted Airport – more than any other coach or rail operator, holidaymakers can rely on National Express for convenient, great value public transport straight to the terminal door. Tickets start from £11 one way (booking fees apply).
Ed Rickard, Network Director for National Express, said:
“Londoners want airport travel that’s simple, reliable and doesn’t break the bank, and we are delivering exactly that. We already operate more services to Stansted than any other coach operator, and this enhanced timetable gives travellers more choice, value and convenience, even during the busiest time of the year.
“Demand for tickets is high ahead of the peak Christmas travel period, so we’re advising customers to book in advance to guarantee a seat for travel.”
Steve Mills, London Stansted’s Surface Access Strategy Manager, said:
“We very much welcome the increases by National Express to further strengthen the coach network to and from London Stansted. These additional services will provide more choice and better connectivity for passengers and boost the airport’s proud record as the number one major airport in the UK for passengers using public transport for their airport journey.”
Passengers can expect a safe and comfortable experience on board, with leather reclining seats, free Wi-Fi on selected services, USB power sockets and a generous luggage allowance of up to 20kg. Change & Go flexible ticket options are also available.
