Rising metal/grime star Native James has today announced the release of his EP, CONFESSIONS OF A SINNER. The long-awaited body of work features the two previously released singles FALLEN which was included in the Spotify playlist Misfits 2.0, of which Native graced the cover of, and was also spun on BBC Radio 1 by Alyx Holcombe, where he was featured as a Getting To Know You artist, and also GTFU, which also received strong DSP support and appeared on several playlists including on Apple Music, Amazon and Tidal.
Native has explained, “This EP is ups and downs, trials and tribulations; it entices the duality of oneself while taking you down a path of reflection. It’s connected with rage and all the above – a sinner and his thoughts.” CONFESSIONS OF A SINNER will be released on 3rd October, and can be pre-saved here.
Alongside this announcement, Native James has released his visceral new single, YOU’RE NOTHING, which will also appear on the forthcoming EP. Listen here.
Of the new track, Native has commented, “YOU’RE NOTHING is about doubling down; letting the system, the perpetrator, the hater and the abuser know that they are nothing. That same rhetoric that has been implanted into the heads of many that they’re worthless, or nothing – we’re spinning it on its head making the people realise they are something, they are valued.”
Showing no signs of slowing down, today also sees Native announce his first ever UK headline tour for November! To celebrate the release of CONFESSIONS OF A SINNER, the Ipswich-based artist will kick off the live dates at The Lodge in Manchester on 4th November, and make his way around Norwich, Manchester, Southampton and Bristol, before wrapping things up at London’s Old Blue Last on 12th November. Tickets go on sale on Friday 5th September, here.
This Summer has seen Native play a slew of festivals and shows, including his first ever Glastonbury where he played not one, but two sets, and supporting Letlive. at their farewell London shows, at the Electric Ballroom.
