Celebrate the spookiest day of the year at the Natural History Museum with its Halloween event.
On Thursday 31 October, visitors to Halloween at the Museum will don their best fancy dress, get to know the natural world’s more misunderstood members and spend the evening partying with skeleton specimens.
Once darkness falls and the Museum has closed to the public for the day, partygoers will arrive at the iconic Gothic Revival building in South Kensington. Under the watchful eye of Hope – a 25-metre blue whale skeleton – the brave will have the chance to explore fascinating galleries, including the world-renowned Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, and get to know more about spooky science and some of the natural world’s most misunderstood creatures.
Not for the faint hearted, the ever-popular Halloween at the Museum event includes a spooky tour where expert guides introduce some of the strangest specimens at the Museum.
Visitors feeling even braver can opt for a behind-the scenes tour of the spirit collections in the Tank Room, where they will get to peek at the jars and tanks filled with preserved specimens from across the world, including Archie the huge eight-metre-long giant squid.
Exploring complete, guests will join Sophie the Stegosaurus skeleton for a silent disco with the dinosaurs of Earth Hall. Partygoers will be kitted out with wireless headsets as they join battling DJ’s who simultaneously play club classics and hot new tracks, curating a creepy soundtrack to the night.
The adult-only (18 and over) event takes place from 18:45 finishing at 23.00. Tickets to the exclusive annual event start from £36 for Natural History Museum members, and £40 for non-members
