A poll conducted by Nature Valley, the snack brand helping people get equipped for life, reveals that a whopping three in four (75%) parents consider making memories together the most important thing they want to do with their children while they are young. A similar number (72%) also agree that fun family fun days out are important to them.
With the school holidays coming up, parents across the country will be busy planning activities to keep their families entertained – with three in five (62%) saying they look forward to school-holidays so they can spend quality time with their children.
However, despite having good intentions, 9 in 10 parents (89%) admit to having felt anxious about these days out with nearly all (93%) having experienced stress on a family day out before.
Amongst the top concerns of parents ahead of school holidays are the financial cost of days out (43%) and keeping children entertained (39%). One in four (26%) parents also stress about their children being hungry on days out and almost a fifth (19%) worry about forgetting to pack snacks.
Of the parents polled, 54% agree that kids behaving badly, bad weather (49%) and traveling (35%) are the things most likely to cause stress on a family day out.
With multiple factors to consider it’s perhaps not surprising that over half (57%) admit that they have or would consider avoiding planning things to do during school holidays altogether due to the stress it causes.
As the brand committed to fueling happily, hectic families – Nature Valley knows that parenting hacks can be a lifeline when it comes to having a stress free and fun family outing, helping parents feel prepared and in control.
So, to help parents navigate their way through the school holidays, Nature Valley is popping up with the Life Hack Shack at Waterloo station on 3rd and 4th April 2024.
Built from life hacks shared by a community of parents in the happily hectic trenches, the pop-up aims to offer a fun-filled space for parents and children to explore on their travels and take away a range of life-hacking items and advice – provided they share their own unique bit of wisdom first, to help build on the experience for others.
Activity packs designed to keep children entertained will also be available at the Life Hack Shack, along with delicious and nutritious snacks to keep the whole family well fueled for their fun-filled days out.
JP Del Carmen, Head of Snacks at Nature Valley, says: “We know that family days out, whilst happy occasions, can also be hectic. Our goal is to alleviate some of the stress of these outings with our life hack shack. We hope that the Life Hack Shack brings parents together and encourages them to share their pearls of wisdom with each other, to make family days out less stressful this half term. We of course will be on hand to keep families fuelled with our delicious snacks – perfect for enjoying on the go.”
