Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, London’s leading River Bus, will once again play a crucial role on one of the city’s busiest weekends, transporting fans, runners and volunteers to key locations along the 26.2 mile TCS London Marathon route.
On 27 April, race fans preparing to line the River Thames can easily reach their chosen spot for watching the runners by taking to the water. The River Bus offers a calm and dependable alternative to busy trains and congested streets for spectators planning to cheer on the record 56,000 runners participating in this year’s marathon.
With frequent sailings and convenient stops at piers along the marathon route, including Woolwich (Royal Wharf), Greenwich, Canary Wharf, Tower, Embankment and Westminster, Uber Boat by Thames Clippers offers one of the most scenic and stress-free ways to cheer on runners at multiple key points along the course.
Hop-On Hop-Off tickets allow customers to hop from pier-to-pier and follow the race down the river, through some of the most famous landmarks in the city.
Uber Boat by Thames Clippers has also added three additional early morning sailings from Rotherhithe Pier to Greenwich Pier at 07:00, 07:20 and 07:40, providing a reliable service straight to the starting line.
After crossing the finish line, runners can hop on board an Uber Boat by Thames Clippers vessel and unwind with a celebratory drink. Medal holders will be treated to a free beer or soft drink onboard any service on Sunday 21 April, because 26.2 miles deserves to be celebrated. To redeem their free drink, runners must show their finisher’s medal and race number to a member of staff on board.
For those driving into London for the big day, ‘Park and Glide’ tickets save money and time including parking at The O2 or Barking Riverside and unlimited all-day river travel at a special rate.
