The Mayor’s Fund for London has today announced the appointment of Jim Minton as its new Chief Executive, effective September 2022.
Jim will be joining the Fund at a pivotal time, as we experience a surge in demand across our programmes to support young people and families affected by the pandemic and the rising cost of living.
Jim is currently the Chief Executive of Toynbee Hall, a multipurpose community organisation in East London, which he has led since 2017. During that time, he has revitalised the focus of the organisation, built deeper engagement with communities, and renewed the historic home of the charity to support a vibrant and growing range of services and partnerships. Jim was previously Director of Membership and Communications at London Youth, and before that was a senior civil servant in the Home Office. He has previously worked in international development and held senior roles at a number of national charities, having begun his career in marketing for a major brewer. Jim is chair of trustees at youth refugee charity, Dost, is Vice Chair of the Aldgate BID, and a board member of Collaborate CIC.

I’ve been hugely privileged over the last 5 years to lead Toynbee Hall and have learned in this time how organisations can begin to shift power to communities and engage them in shaping positive change. I am looking forward to using that experience – and continuing to learn from the team, trustees and partners – to ensure the Mayor’s Fund builds on the great foundations they and my predecessor have created.”
