Renowned London based charity, Pan Intercultural Arts, is expanding its valuable work by launching a new creative arts centre in Vauxhall. It will offer a safe and vibrant space for young people, refugees and survivors of modern slavery to transform their lives through the arts. The opening coincides with the organisation’s 40th anniversary year.

Opening this centre enables Pan to significantly increase its reach and impact. There will be new services, more access and deeper opportunities to meet the growing need of its communities. It is projected to serve more than 1000 participants annually and welcome thousands more within the next three years.

The centre became a reality through generous support from architects tp bennett and contractors 8Build, plus many other companies and individuals who have shared time, expertise and resources.

John Martin, Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Pan Intercultural Arts said: “Our centre will stand as a beacon of hope, creativity, and will offer a vital space for participants to find their voice, build confidence and explore their potential through the arts, fostering community and connection when it is needed most.
We will use the centre to build on our experience and belief that creativity can dismantle division and empower people.”

Long time Pan artist and actor Zephryn Taitte (Call the Midwife) said, “I’ve observed and had first hand experience of how Pan uses the arts to empower and uplift everyone who comes into contact with them. Often working under the radar and making our society unconsciously better with its presence. This move marks the great reveal and finally Pan can take centre stage for the everyone to see”.

Pan Intercultural Arts’ have worked with more than 20,000 people in the UK and reached hundreds of thousands across international work, with former participants going on to build new careers, embark on further education and even return as facilitators of the very programmes that once supported them.
