Marble Arch London BID welcomes the news that a host of new restaurants and cafes are continuing to drive the regeneration of the district reinforcing its status as one of London’s leading dining destinations.

London Chocolate, Chourangi, Creams, Chai Walla, Feya, Pizza Pilgrims, Wagamama, Five Guys, and Coffee by Real Eating Co. have all recently agreed leases with major landholders The Portman Estate, British Land, The Church Commissioners and Almacantar.

The exciting mix of restaurants and cafés not only helps to bring visitors to the district, but also provides plenty of choice to those that live and work in the Marble Arch and Edgware Road area. Whether it is the finest Middle Eastern or Indian cuisine, or a quick burger to go, consumers’ needs will be met at Marble Arch.

To help regulars keep pace with the new arrivals. Marble Arch London BID hosts a real time eating out guide online, complete with regularly refreshed offers, and annually produces a printed guide for residents, businesses, and tourists ‘A Taste of Marble Arch’.

The arrival of these new restaurants and cafés is a sign of confidence in not only the Marble Arch area but also the wider West End and Oxford Street District which was hit hard by the various lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Marble Arch district contributes £165m to the UK economy each year with the retail and food and beverage sectors providing £33m, and the new restaurants and cafés are set to further mobilise the level of investment in the area, providing much needed eating out options for shoppers and tourists as they return to the West End.

The news of these new arrivals coincides with the recent completion of Marble Arch Place and Regent House on Edgware Road, which will provide new homes and commercial space as well as quality retail and public realm. Meanwhile, One Marble Arch is due to complete in 2022, and will provide the area with flagship offices and retail.

Kay Buxton, Chief Executive, Marble Arch London BID, comments: “Marble Arch and Edgware Road are already home to some of the finest eateries in London, and our mix of outlets is one of the most diverse in the city, which helps us to attract visitors from far and wide. The arrival of these new restaurants and café’s is a welcome investment into the area and the West End and shows signs that London is beginning to recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic as international visitors and workers return.

“Not only will these new arrivals help support the local economy by driving footfall, but they will also help attract more businesses to the growing office sector. Meanwhile our many hotels, retailers and leisure businesses will also benefit from the arrival of new food and beverage outlets as they help to increase dwell time in the district.

“Over the course of the next 12 months we hope to share more exciting news about other new arrivals as we continue to make Marble Arch a premier London destination which is a welcoming environment for all.”

Charlotte Moss, Senior Asset Manager, Church Commissioners, added: “We’re delighted to see the number of new F&B businesses choosing to open up in Marble Arch and are excited to see what else 2022 has in store for our beautiful West End neighbourhood.

“In Connaught Village it has been a pleasure to recently welcome London Chocolate. A first for the capital, the independently owned business offers Londoners artisanal ‘bean to bar’ products and experiences with cacao sourced ethically from specialty producers across the globe.

“The new opening is a welcome addition among our existing restaurants, cafes and bars – all of which can be discovered on Marble Arch BID’s eating out guide ‘A Taste of Marble Arch’.”

Mark Serrell, Partner at Kenningham Retail said: “Beyond the Arch itself and the stunning natural anchor of Hyde Park, sustained long-term investment and creative development in Marble Arch has transformed the area, bringing new architecture and environments for everyone to enjoy.

“Kenningham Retail are proud to be working with some of the key stakeholders in creating quality retail, leisure, and food and beverage spaces that are attracting some of the best-in-class international operators to this location. It is testament to the calibre of the Marble Arch Place development, that the scheme was 90% pre-let before its practical completion with only one unit remaining – an unrivalled achievement.

“We are driving the upgrade in quality of diverse tenants to the area including brands such as; Wagamama, Feya, Foot Locker and The Hard Rock hotel, as well as a new ground-breaking 30,000 sq ft attraction launching at Marble Arch Place in Summer 2022.

“Marble Arch is firmly becoming one of the go-to places in London to shop, eat, work, stay and have fun, with even more exciting things to come… watch this space.”
