REFORM UK leader Nigel Farage has predicted that the party could win up to six million votes in tomorrow’s General Election.
He made the forecast in an interview with GB News Political Editor Christopher Hope, which is the fourth in a series with the leaders of the main political parties, following Sir Keir Starmer, Sir Ed Davey, and Rishi Sunak.
Farage said: “I am hoping it will be well above five million. I think six million is very possible. Very, very possible. That’s what I believe will happen…will the seats we win be proportional? Probably not. And then Labour might get 37% of the vote and have the biggest parliamentary majority in history.”
Starmer and Sunak are competing to who will be the next middle manager of Britain, Farage said: “You’ve basically got two men who are competing to be in it who’s the next middle manager of Britain. That’s what we’re really talking about.
“There’s no drive, there’s no passion, there’s no real leadership. And frankly, with Labour, we’ll get more of the same just a little bit worse. And what we’re saying is let’s take a radical step forwards.”
He said would start an initiative to professionalise Reform UK immediately after the election: “I will starting on Friday professionalise Reform UK, democratise Reform UK, build a branch structure around the country.
“And you know what really matters? Yes, I want us to be the voice of Opposition in the House of Commons. The Conservatives can’t be Sunak won’t be there.
“They’re divided…I want to be the voice of opposition to Starmer in the Commons, but more importantly in the country, and the ambition is we establish this bridgehead tomorrow and then build a mass movement for real change.”
Farage said he has told Donald Trump’s team to talk to David Lammy: He said: “The Trump team asked me about it and I said ‘yes, do talk to David Lammy’.
“Even if your politics are different, our relationship with America in a world that’s close to a global conflagration but has been for over 60 years is crucial.”
Only 25 per cent of our voters are Conservatives supporters, he said: “I would say maybe 25%, maybe 25% of our support will go to the Conservatives, 10 or 15 to Labour. The rest will stay at home and simply not bother.
“They’ve destroyed themselves. You know why? This is now the fifth manifesto in a row in which they’re promising to cut taxes, reduce immigration. They’re liars, they lie to the electorate. They get away with it.”
He said he will be in “full cry” calling for electoral reform: “The Tories have done themselves in [and] by this time next week the campaign for electoral reform will be in full cry. I know because I’m going to be part of it.”
