No evidence to suggest prime suspect in Maddie hunt took her…

A LEADING crime expert says he doesn’t believe the prime suspect in the Madeleine McCann investigation is responsible for her disappearance.

Convicted rapist Christian Bruckner was charged earlier this week in relation to five sex crimes between 2000 and 2017 in Portugal.

However, the 2007 abduction of Madeleine is not one of the new charges.

German investigators still suspect the 45-year-old German killed Madeleine, then aged three, after abducting her from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on May 3, 2007.

But speaking to GB News, Mark Williams Thomas, who exposed Jimmy Savile’s abuse, cast doubt on this.
He told GB News: “The German prosecutor is absolutely certain Christian Bruckner is responsible for the disappearance and murder of Madeleine McCann. But unfortunately he still doesn’t have that evidence. They are now going down the road of bringing charges in relation to other sexual offences. But then of course, the very key one is Madeline’s disappearance, and they are no further forward.

He said: “Christian Bruckner is a convicted child sex offender. He’s been convicted for a number of offences both in relation to contact so that is offensive contact and contact children with photographs. He is a nasty piece of work certainly in relation to children.

“There’s no doubt about that. But that doesn’t mean that he is responsible for the abduction and murder of Maddie.

“The German prosecutor very clearly says he has the evidence. I’ve questioned him specifically about evidence that he has, but it doesn’t stand up to any scrutiny.”

On the recent charges brought against Bruckner, Mr Williams-Thomas said there was a huge question mark over a video cassette which cops say contains evidence linked to the German: He added: “There are two charges that they brought, in relation to the rape of a lady and a young child. Now what’s significant about this is that this video cassette, even if it did exist, it doesn’t exist now. It’s never been seen by the police. It’s only been seen by two individuals. And these are two individuals who I’ve spoken to and whose credibility really is in doubt. It is quite astonishing that the Germans are going to prosecute an individual on a video cassette that nobody has seen other than two discredited individuals.”
