Sports fans and North London locals are in for a treat as state of the art sports bar, Northwood, launches in Angel this September.
Maven Leisure will add Northwood to its ever growing portfolio of bars and restaurants across London. The launch of Northwood signals Maven’s first foray into North London and the group will aim to replicate the success it has had elsewhere across the capital by providing a state of the art viewing experience combined with a quality hospitality offering for sports fans in N1 to indulge while they take in the action.
Located on Liverpool Road at Angel Central, Northwood will soon become a haven to sports fans from North London and beyond, as 12 UHD screens and best in class AV systems descend on the 3,600 sq ft site. Opening doors just in time for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, Northwood will kick off its sporting schedule with a bang this September. The brand new venue will go on to screen all major sporting fixtures from the likes of the Champions League and Premier League, to Formula 1, cricket, and darts.
Northwood is set to be the first purpose-built sports pub and kitchen in Angel and is a step above the rest when it comes to catching the very best of sport. The team is dedicated to welcoming fans across all sports; with the ability to book tables and areas making sure guests need not to miss a goal or hairpin overtake again. As well as the indoor seating and bar areas, there’s a newly installed stunning south facing terrace for fans to congregate on.
Come September, Northwood will be serving up sports bar classics with a fresh twist, as all food and drink is prepared in house and sourced from sustainable, British produce. Guests can look forward to hand-stretched Neapolitan style pizza, hearty burgers, sweet and spicy wings, as well as a range of small plates and snacks such as loaded chilli waffle fries and mozzarella dippers.
For big groups, Northwood’s sharing platters will be a crowd favourite, The Wingback platter serves up 1kg of crispy wings with Kansas BBQ, Classic Buffalo, Korean and Mango Habanero sauces, as well as sides and dips; while The Quarterback platter features cheeseburgers, fries and a rainbow of hot sauces.
All complemented by beer on tap, classic cocktails, great wine and a long list of alcoholic and non alcoholic spirits and mixers; great food and an unmatched atmosphere makes Northwood the only place to catch the action.
Ed Martin, CEO of ETM Group & Maven Leisure, London, commented: “We can’t wait for Northwood to touch down on Angel this September as the neighbourhood’s first dedicated sports bar and kitchen. As soon as doors open we’ll be kicking off with the Rugby World Cup, giving locals and beyond the chance to come experience our premium dining and state of the art audio visual systems . Our goal has always been to run bars that are the first port of call to watch sports in the capital and we are excited to welcome the local community, fans and families to Northwood and for it to become a true local treasure.”
Northwood will open in September 2023 and the official opening date will be announced later this month.
