One City, a state-of-the-art gym that’s proven to improve members’ running times, originally founded and based in Brighton, has announced the launch of its first London studio at Battersea Power Station.

Following the development and refinement of its proprietary training system in its pilot studio in Brighton, One City brings its unique progressive approach to running to London, designed to drive performance for runners at all levels, as the wave of running cultural hype crashes on the city. The studio in Brighton has brought together a dedicated, hyper-driven community of runners and gym-goers who want to take their training to the next level.

One City is now opening its doors to a brand-new studio in London, designed by renowned specialists TwoFold, known for their unique aesthetic-led designs for brands, including Cole Buxton and UVU.

Founded by visionary entrepreneur and running maverick Bertie Wilkins, One City offers a unique performance and data-driven gym concept, designed by business partner Sean Reddington, CEO and Founder of the global SaaS £ 300m-valued business, Thrive. By combining the greatest minds in technology with one of running’s most original thinkers, One City is bringing an edge to runners looking to optimise their performance and live the lifestyle, in the gym and on the track.

Its methodology provides members with measurable proof of progress by offering valuable individual metrics to each member via a bespoke One City App for every session. This integrated technology utilises artificial intelligence to deliver data collected from wearable technology, worn in each class, including performance, heart rate, variability, speed, and activity levels, as well as offering comparative results to demonstrate improvements and highlight areas for improvement.

This innovative approach is designed to turbocharge improved running times and overall fitness output. Every class, data point, and rep is designed for results, allowing members to visualise and celebrate measurable improvements from session to session.

One City – Run City:
One City London will offer instructor-led Run City sessions that are a high-energy environment to mirror the brand’s culture of precision and cultivate a unique and immersive experience for members.

This transformative, performance-driven, 45 minute workout is divided into two training styles, running and strength. Half the class is spent on assault runners, working through progressively ratcheting evidence-based systems of intensity and duration, benefitting from the biomechanically optimised assault runner, which drives up to 30% more from your workout compared to traditional treadmills. Athletes then head to the floor for strength and conditioning training using targeted weights and bodyweight exercises inspired by the training regimes of the greatest runners and athletes of all time.

Founder of One City, Bertie Wilkins, comments: “Our fundamental ambition at One City is to cultivate a strong community for people who have a shared enthusiasm and drive for fitness. I’m excited to grow this community in London – arguably one of the world’s biggest running capitals – and build a space for people who not only want to belong, but want to perform better using our data driven technology and proven class sessions.

Opening a studio in Battersea, which is at the heart of London’s running scene, is a great opportunity for us to engage with like-minded people and create a hub that is unique, special, and welcoming to all abilities. We are super proud to have already been able to help our members, who range in running abilities, to secure personal best times.

With our bespoke technology, we truly believe we are building world-class experiences with classes that are the future of fitness, empowering transformative change and allowing people to take their fitness journeys to the next level.”
