Oxford Tube unveils major service improvements and fresh new look for 2026

The Oxford Tube is set to enter an exciting new chapter, with a series of customer-led improvements launching from 9 March 2026, reinforcing its position as the number one coach service between Oxford and London.
Following extensive customer feedback, the refreshed Oxford Tube will offer a simpler, smarter and more reliable route, better connections across London, expanded weekend services in West Oxfordshire, and even better value for customers who buy their ticket through the Oxford Tube app.
The changes also mark the beginning of a bold new look and feel of the Oxford Tube brand to be revealed next month.
Smarter routes, stronger connections
From March 2026, Oxford Tube customers will benefit from a brand-new stop close to Acton Main Line Station, providing fast and easy onward connections via the Elizabeth line to Central, East and West London, as well as Heathrow Airport.
Every core Oxford–London journey will also serve Shepherd’s Bush, offering consistent access to Westfield London, one of the UK’s most popular shopping and leisure destinations.
As part of the route simplification, White City will no longer be served, while Baker Street will move to a more commuter-focused offering, with two morning peak express journeys retained for early travellers.
Chris Hanson, Managing Director at Stagecoach West, said:
“We’ve listened carefully to what our customers have told us, and these changes are all about making Oxford Tube even easier, simple and better value to use. By focusing on our core Oxford–London service and improving connections across the capital, we’re setting the service up to deliver a range of extra leisure and hospitality options for our customers.”
“The new Acton Main Line stop is a real gamechanger, opening up huge parts of London and Heathrow via the Elizabeth line, while our simpler route structure will help improve reliability for everyone.”
Weekend boost for West Oxfordshire
Building on strong demand since its launch in 2023, Oxford Tube’s West Oxfordshire service will expand to include weekends for the first time. From 9 March 2026, customers in Witney and Carterton will benefit from new Saturday and Sunday journeys to and from London, alongside improved punctuality on weekday services.
Lower fares and bigger savings on the app
Customers who buy tickets via the Oxford Tube app will enjoy 20% off single and return fares compared to purchasing on board, alongside faster boarding and secure mobile tickets, meaning an adult return ticket, on the app is just £22.50 compared to £24 currently.
Regular travellers can save even more with a 30% discount on multi-buy tickets, bringing the cost of an adult single journey down to just £10.50 when buying 12 tickets at once.
Oxford Tube will continue its commitment to simple, fair pricing, with no peak fares, no luggage charges and no hidden costs, whatever the time or day of travel.
Chris Hanson added:
“We’re proud that Oxford Tube remains one of the best-value ways to travel between Oxford and London. By lowering our app prices and keeping our simple fare structure, we’re making sure customers receive great value without compromise.”
A fresh new look on the horizon
Alongside the service improvements, Oxford Tube has confirmed that a refreshed brand identity is on the way, with more details to be revealed on 9 March 2026.
“This is just the beginning,” Hanson said. “As well as improving the service itself, we’re excited to be creating a new look and feel to the Oxford Tube, making sure it reflects the modern, high-quality experience our customers expect and connects people to where they want to go.”
