Marble Arch London BID, in partnership with The Church Commissioners for England, has announced a new permanent location for the much-loved Paddington statue.

Everyone’s favourite marmalade loving bear now sits in Connaught Village Green at the heart of the community, surrounded by greenery and the bustle of visitors exploring the area’s independent shops and cafes.

Connaught Village Green, a vibrant new public space nestled at the junction of Connaught Street and Kendal Street, features biodiverse planting and ample outdoor seating, offering residents and visitors a tranquil retreat amidst the bustling cityscape.

Paddington was originally brought to Connaught Village by Marble Arch London BID and The Church Commissioners for England last October to celebrate the release of STUDIOCANAL’s Paddington in Peru.

The move was met with excitement from the local community, with families and visitors eager to see where Paddington would be spending his days. On the day of his relocation, pupils from Connaught House School followed a trail of paw prints through Connaught Village, before finding Paddington in his new home, marmalade sandwich still firmly in paw.

Kay Buxton, Chief Executive, Marble Arch London BID, said: “Since his arrival in Connaught Village last year, Paddington has become a much-loved neighbour, delighting fans of all ages, bringing smiles to residents, children and visitors who pause to enjoy a photo. We have seen fans from across London and beyond come to visit Paddington, and in this new permanent location, visitors will be able to sit with Paddington and explore the many shops, cafes, restaurants, and attractions that Connaught Village has to offer.”
