Exactly one month after his emotional Wimbledon exit, Payhawk—the finance orchestration platform—has transformed a historic East London tennis court into a striking public artwork and community hub, honouring brand ambassador Grigor Dimitrov’s celebrated gesture of resilience.
Dubbed “The Court of Resilience”, the initiative features a mural painted directly onto the centre court at Aldersbrook Lawn Tennis Club in Wanstead. Inspired by Dimitrov’s post-match handshake with the umpire – praised globally as a symbol of grace in adversity – the restored court will open for one day only, inviting the community to step onto the playable mural and celebrate resilience.
“Tennis has taught me that resilience is the main driver of success in all fields and finding grace under such conditions emphasizes that even more,” said Grigor Dimitrov. “Seeing that spirit turned into art—and made accessible to a community court —means a lot to me. I’m proud to partner with Payhawk on a project that reminds young players to keep believing in every point.”
“Grigor’s handshake was more than a moment—it was a message,” said Hristo Borisov, CEO and Co-founder of Payhawk. “It reminded the world that true strength lies in character, even in the most difficult moments. At Payhawk, we believe that class and resilience aren’t just values for athletes—they’re critical to leadership and long-term success in business. This initiative is our way of celebrating those values while giving something meaningful back to the community.”
The initiative is delivered in collaboration with Aldersbrook LTC, film studio HandPlayed, experiential agency Undercurrent, and mural painting company Wood Street Walls. The mural is documented in a short film that will be available in mid-August.
Payhawk’s sponsorship of Dimitrov forms part of its broader commitment to resilience, ambition, and excellence—values that fuel high performance across both sport and business.
